So…what’s Livin It Loud? A group of students passionate about making a difference in our generation. Most of us have been through some pretty hard times. Some live with parents who are addicts, others have parents who have gone to prison, some of us have gone through battles with drinking, or drugs, or cutting ourselves. In one way or another, we’ve all dealt with destructive behaviors. But, we believe there is ALWAYS hope. Besides meeting weekly and having a safe place to go where we can just be ourselves and find encouragement, we also go out and do performances for schools, churches, and community events. We host amazing retreats, which are just a chance for teens to get away from life and have fun playing crazy games, getting to know new cool people, and remembering that we’re accepted and loved like crazy by God. Basically, we’re just teens helping teens, and we’re committed to making a difference in the world.
The Livin It Loud program was developed the first five years we worked with students in a support group environment at a local high school. After spending years researching the unique challenges this next generation faces, as well as time working with young people in churches and schools, we learned one of the best things we could do is allow them to use their voice and experiences to make a difference. There are several dynamics that make the program successful.
Through group discussions, real life testimonies, peer to peer activities that require genuine transparency – we believe Livin It Loud achieves and meets the needs of this young generation. We embrace them and love every challenging and endearing thing about them. If you elect to share and implement this program at your school or church, know that we have been praying for you and the students you will serve.
Livin It Loud has been developed as a school-based program, as well as a faith-based program, and is written to allow individual facilitators or sponsors to adapt the program so it best suits the need of your group.
