15,000 teens

reached annually by Journey to Dream, helping them develop the skills needed for adulthood.

Being a teen is harder
than ever.

Journey to Dream is a nonprofit in Denton County, Texas that offers comprehensive services for youth navigating the challenging teen years, from the everyday to the extraordinary. Our mission is to embrace, equip, and empower homeless, hurting, and at-risk teens to achieve recovery, overcome adversity, and live purposeful lives.

Our Goal

Youth are equipped to thrive as adults.

Today’s teens face extraordinary challenges with lifelong consequences before they’ve fully developed the skills to cope with them. These can include everything from traumatic experiences like homelessness, trafficking and abuse to the everyday challenges of being a teen, like peer pressure, family conflict and stress. Since 2004, Journey to Dream has provided youth safe spaces to work through these issues by developing their identities and healthy coping skills.

Founded by two passionate women who saw a gap in services for homeless teens in Denton County, the organization has grown to reach 15,000 young people annually. We are a faith-driven and inclusive organization that is committed to empowering teens while also providing them the guidance and accountability needed during these formative years.

Our continuum of programs include shelter for teens experiencing homelessness, ongoing support services and in-school prevention programs to help middle and high school students manage the stresses of growing up in today’s complex world.
